Delivery apps take a large cut of every order, which is brutal for independent restaurants running on thin margins. Halal Food Pass works the other way around. The member pays a small subscription, the restaurant pays no commission, and the discount happens at the till.

Members carry a digital Lime Card and show it before paying. Discounts run from 5% to 20% and cover up to six people on a visit, dine-in or takeout. There are no codes and no coupons to redeem.

Offers show live status pulled from each restaurant’s own schedule, so you see what is actually active right now rather than a list of deals that expired last month. Coverage is 457+ restaurants across 54+ cuisine types in Toronto, Mississauga, Oakville, Milton and Burlington.

There is a partner program on the restaurant side, which is where the interesting product problems live: getting a restaurant to trust a discount scheme takes more than a signup form.
